   What is your education, experience & expertise? There are tens of thousands of consultants in various specialties. To compete, you must have an area of specialization that is in demand, and have the credentials and references to back up your claims. Do note that besides a lot of competition, therefore the need for a specialized niche, businesses (like individuals) are cutting back severely on spending. If you are really good at what you do, and there is a market for your particular specialization, you can do very, very well.

   I am not sure exactly what you mean by virtual consulting business. No one even searches for that term on the internet. You really want a business that people are actually looking for.

   consulting firm is more popular

   one business idea that is popular is “coach”

   Consulting online is becoming extremely popular, but the key is knowing how to attract customers, and set up the whole process. If you have this knowledge, you can do very well for yourself.

   There is a program that I came across, that can teach you everything you need to know to be very successful as an online consultant. I’ve included a link in the source box below.

   It is a private membership, and you could even use this setup as a model to do something very similar.

   If you already know how to do something that most people don’t, you’re already way ahead of the masses.

   I think you should really pursue this idea. It is highly profitable once you know how to drive traffic to you, which the website below teaches.
